Living Longer Living Stronger is a progressive strength and balance program designed to improve your strength, balance, and mobility.
It doesn’t matter if you have never done an exercise class before, or if you are relatively unfit. Each person will be individually assessed for their physical level and a tailored exercise program will be created for each attendee. The classes are designed for people of all levels of ability. Through regular attendance, you will gradually increase the level of work you do to develop your strength.
Strength training benefits include:
increasing muscles mass and strength
improving coordination and confidence in the way you move, reducing your risk of falls
improving insulin sensitivity and joint health
reducing anxiety and depression
increasing brain function and learning.
The program also provides an opportunity for socialising and meeting new people.
Bookings are essential.
The program is also available at St Helen's Community Centre on Wednesdays 2pm and Cliff Noble Community Centre on Thursdays 10am and Ron Williams Community Centre on Fridays 10am.
Accredited by the Council on the Ageing NSW (COTA).
We aim to deliver inclusive and accessible events. If you have any particular access or communication needs, please contact Bishop Laryea on 02 9265 9133 or blaryea@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.
