Balmoral Swim

Get ready to dive in! The 34th annual Balmoral Swim returns to the stunning shores of Balmoral Beach on Sunday, April 6, bringing together hundreds of swimmers and supporters on a mission to raise $200,000 for childhood cancer research. 

This much-loved community-driven, volunteer-run event is more than just a swim—it's a festival of determination, resilience, and hope, all in support of the Children’s Cancer Institute. 

Now in its 20th year of supporting childhood cancer research, the Balmoral Swim has been a driving force in funding ground-breaking efforts to find a cure. Whether you're a seasoned open-water competitor, a first-time ocean swimmer, or part of a fun relay team, there’s a race for everyone! 

Swim for a Cause 

For 20 years, the Balmoral Swim has proudly partnered with the Children’s Cancer Institute, helping fund critical research to put an end to childhood cancer. 

"Three children die from cancer every week in Australia, while 1,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed every year," said Professor Michelle Haber AM, Executive Director of the Children’s Cancer Institute. "We won’t stop until this number is zero. Every stroke taken at the Balmoral Swim gets us closer to that goal.” 

Race Day Schedule 

With six exciting events throughout the morning, there’s a swim for every age and skill level: 

🕖 7:00 AM – 5km & 2.5km Ocean Swims 

🕣 8:30 AM – School Relay 

🕤 9:40 AM – Balmoral Teams Challenge Relay 

🕙 10:00 AM – Junior 200m Swim 

🕥 10:15 AM – 1km Swim 

For the third year running, the Balmoral Swim is proud to offer wheelchair-accessible entry, with a beach wheelchair provided by the Balmoral Beach Club to ensure that swimmers of all abilities can participate.
