Balmoral Swim
Sunday 22 March from 7am to 1pm
The 35th annual Balmoral Swim will kick off on Sunday 22 March 2026, with hundreds of swimmers diving into the ocean in support of childhood cancer research.
A much-loved fixture on the Lower North Shore calendar, the Balmoral Swim is a completely volunteer-run swimming festival held at the iconic Balmoral Beach, Mosman. The event brings together swimmers of all ages and abilities — from solo and team swimmers to first-time ocean swimmers and seasoned veterans — united by a shared goal to make a difference.
The Balmoral Swim will once again proudly support Children’s Cancer Institute, with the 2026 event aiming to raise $200,000 to fund vital childhood cancer research.
2026 Balmoral Swim Schedule
Six events will take place across the morning:
8:00 am – 5km & 2.5km Swims
8:30 am – School Relay
9:45 am – Balmoral Teams Challenge Relay
10:00 am – Junior 200m Swim
10:30 am – 1km Swim
For the third year in a row, the Balmoral Swim will offer wheelchair access, with the Balmoral Beach Club also supplying a beach wheelchair to ensure more convenient access for swimmers with disabilities.
The Balmoral Swim has been running for 35 years, with 19 of those years dedicated to supporting Children’s Cancer Institute. All funds raised go directly towards the Institute’s research to improve survival rates and quality of life for children with cancer.
Children’s Cancer Institute Executive Director, Professor Michelle Haber AM, said the long-standing partnership with the Balmoral Swim continues to have a powerful impact.
“Three children die from cancer every week in Australia, while more than 1,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer each year. Children’s Cancer Institute exists to put an end to those diagnoses and deaths. We won’t stop until this number is zero,” Professor Haber said.
“Every dollar raised through the Balmoral Swim brings us one step closer to a cure. It’s not if. It’s when.”
