Wednesdays, 3:30pm to 5:30pm Wednesday 11 February to Wednesday 1 April
Old-school gaming and new-school multiplayer collide in this set of gaming days for young people ages 14 to 20.
We generally play social board games and sometimes Dungeons & Dragons if there's time. No experience is necessary.
Create your own heroes story and put your ideas together with others to help solve riddles, make new allies, find clues and defeat evil.
We can get access to old-school consoles such as the Super Nintendo and Sega Megadrive if we book them in advance, or you can bring your laptop to play with your friends.
There'll occasionally be some facilitated 10-minute discussions around healthier gaming habits including:
Assertiveness skills, avoiding bullying and healthier online communications, especially in competitive environments
How to avoid problematic fundraising attempts by games and gambling-like gaming attempts such as loot boxes
Time management and screen addiction management techniques.
This is a free, safe and supervised program.
Snacks provided.
Bookings recommended. Email youthservices@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au to book.
We aim to deliver inclusive and accessible events. If you have any particular access or communication needs, please call Matthew Sparksman on 02 9265 9333 or youthservices@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.
