Friday 21 June from 10am to 12pm
Join us for morning tea with guest speaker Yaser Naseri to celebrate Refugee Week.
Yaser is a former refugee, survivor and an ambassador with the Refugee Council of Australia. Yaser fled his homeland of Iran in 2011 and made the journey halfway around the world to move to Australia in 2014. Today, Yaser works in marketing and is an advocate for better inclusion of refugees in Australia.
This is a wonderful opportunity to hear Yaser's story and learn about each other.
We aim to deliver inclusive and accessible events. If you have any particular access or communication needs, please contact Amber Figura on 02 9265 9179 or email afigura@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
Bookings essential.
Refugee Week (16-22 June) is a celebration of the contributions refugees and people seeking asylum make in our communities. It also provides awareness of the issues affecting refugees and reminds us all about social cohesion.
The theme of this year's Refugee Week is Finding Freedom: Family. This theme invites us to explore the stories of refugees who, despite the challenges they encounter, discover a source of freedom within the embrace of their families.
