Glebe NSW 2037
Australia
When

Every day, 11am to 6pm Thursday 1 December 2022 to Wednesday 7 December 2022

Luanne Mitchelmore’s exhibition at the Shop Gallery Glebe is called North, South, East and West.  It combines her love of travel to regional NSW with her appreciation of the older houses and community buildings she finds there.

The buildings are reminders of remote past lives and histories, and the stories they contain. Many of these structures are being replaced or neglected, so capturing their image can foster a wider recognition of their value and potential preservation. Luanne uses chalk pastel pencils to capture their unique colours, character and scale, recording their humble presence as many of them disappear.

In addition, Luanne explores the parks of her local area, representing the textures, light and interactions of plants in monochromatic studies of the natural world.

Luanne has been a finalist in the Waverly Art Prize, Little Things Art Prize and was highly commended in this year’s Adelaide Perry Drawing Prize.

Opening event: 6pm Friday 2 December
