Jake Nowakowski: Neo Pride

When

Every day, all day Monday 9 November 2020 to Sunday 29 November 2020

The culmination of four years documenting violent race rallies in Melbourne. The rise of far-right/ anti-immigration groups in Melbourne began to proliferate in 2014 as anti-Islamic sentiment, and a move towards alt-right politics swept through the world. They were met by an enthusiastic opposition of protesters comprised of university groups and anti-racism campaigners.

The stage was set, and the combination of staunch views on both sides led to rallies often marred by violence.

Jake has covered numerous news stories both nationally and internationally. Amongst his industry accolades are ‘Best News Photo’ at the Quill Awards and Nikon-Walkey Award nominations.

After delivering the first online festival in the world in May, attracting 80,000 visits, Head On Photo Festival returns with a printed festival of quality photography this November.
