Trace presents the latest body of work by abstract landscape artist Charne Eade.

Continuing a playful interpretation of nature up-close, the works explore both shape and line whilst investigating the parallel between nature and contemporary culture.

Direct tracings of the landscape are made onto acetate sheets, which are developed into stencils. Seen as repeated motifs and intricate dotted line-work, the trace features as a way to replicate details in nature and speak of a personal interaction with the land.

Combining methods of abstraction and deconstruction, works are explorative and intuitively driven. Handcrafted surfaces feature alongside techniques of stencilling, which are highlighted with an evocative colour palette creating intrigue whilst presenting an urban reading.
