The skills you learn in the practice such as how to move your attention, increasing and decreasing concentration, and choosing your thoughts are useful in all areas of life.

This is why so many are drawn to meditation.

This method can be practiced by everyone from experienced meditators to complete beginners. You set your own pace and distance and there's no fitness component. During the practice there will be some silent guidance and some auditory reminders, with no talking.

Meet near the Spruce Goose Cafe inside Centennial Park. Please allow at least 15 minutes to get to the spot in time. We'll be across the road from the cafe and I'll have a sign.

We will begin at 9:30 with instructions. We will do a short practice followed by a short recap, then we'll do the main practice with about 20 minutes of walking. We will start and finish on time. After the inquiry and wrap up you can continue on with questions and conversation over coffee if you like.

Each class is $5 paid on the day via bank transfer or cash. There is no prepayment. This event will go ahead in light rain but not heavy rain. I will update the page here no later than 7am if it needs to be canceled.

This workshop is led by embodiment coach and teacher Mags Sheridan as part of the Wise Body group series. This embodiment exploration group is called Wise Body because a Wise Body is what you have (not just a brain). Although it’s easy to ignore it in our usual life, we know this wisdom -- including intuition and emotion and also intellect — is more accessible in the quiet stillness of meditation.

Getting there: The light rail stop Royal Randwick is close as well as the 339/373/374 busses. There is parking all the way around the Grand Drive circle and on Parkes Drive near the cafe, but spots fill quickly. Allow yourself 15 minutes or more to walk to the meeting spot.
