In celebration of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras we invite you to get cut and pasted at Waverley Library!
Collage is made up of magazine and newspaper clippings, discarded books, packaging, coloured or handmade papers, portions of other artworks or texts, photographs and found objects.
Queer art, or queer aesthetics, broadly refers to modern and contemporary visual art practices that draw on LGBTQI+ imagery and issues. Collage is the perfect artform to express ones otherness and alter traditional media forms to recreate new ideas and concepts
This class is informal and relaxed, no experience is necessary. You are welcome to create anything on the night just bring you creativity. The class is lead by an experienced LGBTQI+ collagist and member of the Sydney Collage Society.
Suitable for 16 years + All community members welcome.
All collage materials are provided. It's recommended you bring a portfolio to carry your work home.
