Robyn Kennedy’s solo exhibition Embellished showcases her enduring passion for textile surface decoration.

Decorative wall art, contemporary vessels and jewellery which have been crafted from rescued textile samples, handstitched cloths from Asia, pre-worn jewellery, photographs and papers will be on display. Intricate embellishments of metallic and coloured threads, wire, beads, feathers and veneers are integrated into her designs.

Robyn is inspired to create aesthetic works crafted from materials destined for landfill. The repurposing of discarded materials has always been a key motivation for her creativity. Robyn’s art practice encompasses contemporary aesthetics while acknowledging the past and embracing multi-cultural diversity.

Craft Up Late Wednesday 12 October, 5 – 8pm.

This event is part of the Sydney Craft Week Festival 7-16 October 2022.

SCW is an Australian Design Centre initiative. View the complete festival program.
