COURSE OVERVIEW

Ideal for beginners, this course covers acrylic basics, colour mixing, canvas application, and landscape, still life, and ocean painting.

Duration: 1.5 hours per session x 8 weeks

Day: Mondays, starting from May 6th

Time: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Instructor: Kristine Ballard, a seasoned art professional, will lead the sessions.

8 WEEK PROGRAM SCHEDULE

Week 1 – Monday May 6th

MIXING COLOUR & UNDERSTANDING MATERIALS- Understanding your equipment and art space. How  the colour wheel works and how to maximise your mixing.

Week 2 – Monday May 13th

ATMOSPHERIC COLOUR- Learn how colours change and how to create mood with your colour selections. Start your first landscape painting.

Week 3 – Monday May 20th

LANDSCAPE PAINTING- Apply your new skills to some simple landscape paintings.

Week 4 – Monday May 27th

INTRODUCTION TO STILL LIFE- Quick tips and painters tricks to successful still life paintings.

Week 5 – Monday June 3rd

STYLING A STILL LIFE- Advancing your skills and colour work.

Week 6 – Monday June 17th

TRYING TEXTURE- Introducing texture into your paintings. A sweet project to get you started.

Week 7 – Monday June 24th

OCEAN VIBES- Create an ocean inspired artwork using your new painting skills.

Week 8 – Monday July 1st

LAYERING TEXTURE- Adding impact with impasto.
