Art & About opening night

The festival officially launches on Friday 23 October, with Bourke Street transformed into a five-hour disco-themed celebration.

From 5pm to 10pm, the Progress Pride Crossing will come alive with DJs, live performances, drag artists and interactive dance workshops.

Local businesses will take to the street with special offers, outdoor dining and pop-up activations.

Main stage schedule

Head to the Main Stage as we transform the Progress Pride Crossing into Sydney’s ultimate outdoor dancefloor. Enjoy a high-energy waacking showcase by Dancekool celebrating disco’s rich heritage and cultural roots.

Want to learn the moves? Join the Disco Never Dies movement and culture workshop to explore disco history while mastering waacking styling, dramatic posing and core techniques.

To top it all off, Kaleidoscope Dreams will perform all your favourite disco hits live.

Roving entertainment

Catch roving entertainment throughout the evening. Roller skaters will glide through the street, colourful dancers will bring bursts of movement and energy, and the Disco Bubble Girls will fill the air with giant floating bubbles.

Expect head-turning performances and plenty of fabulousness from drag royalty Joyce Maynge, El Beauty and Gogo Bumhole.

Jump into the fun with an LED hula hoop workshop, enjoy a free tarot reading, or stop by the Roving Glam Bar to add a touch of sparkle to your look.

As night falls, illuminated disco performers in dazzling neon costumes will bring maximum retro flair to the street party, while DJ Sheeba, DJ Adam Thomas and Aunty Johnny keep the crowd moving from the DJ booth.
