The Alternative Clothes Swap

Gifts Of Mercy is hosting the Alternative Clothes Swap.

Bring 10 items of adult sized clothing for all genders, freshly washed in good clean condition.

We're especially excited to see clothing with an alternative vibe - from everyday fashion labels like Dangerfield and Zara through to vintage, designer, reworked, handmade and other. Interesting pieces that you'd be happy to give or receive from a friend.

We would like everyone to have a fair chance at finding good quality items they would love so we have set some guidelines on the swap:

Items We Will Include in the swap:

Dresses, jackets, shirts, tops, knitwear, pants, Jeans, Skirts, Shorts (excluding sportswear shorts), T-shirts that are cool band/graphic tees or from mid range to high end brands.

Items That Won't Be Included:

Gym /exercise wear, tracksuits, underwear, swimwear, pyjamas, shoes, accessories, jewellery, costumes, children's clothes, clothes that have a strong scent or smell dirty, Clothes that are stained, pilled, torn or damaged.

Brands That Won't Be Included:

Fast fashion brands such as Temu, Shein, Boohoo, Showpo, Pretty Little Thing, Kmart, Anko, Big W, Emerson, Brilliant Basics, Best And Less, Target, Rockmans, Suzanne Grae, Cotton on, Millers or labels of similar quality.

This is a slow swap arrive whenever you like throughout the swap between 1pm and 4pm. Clothes are added to the swap as new people check in so swap items are added to the racks during the event.

Once you have your entry stamp and have your items checked for suitability and checked in you can start swapping.

You can take the same amount of clothes that we accepted from you at check in.

We can not guarantee what items or sizing will come in for the swap. If you don't find all the clothes you want, your event stamp allows you to come and go anytime between 1pm and 4pm to continue swapping. You could also consider taking items for friends and family to spread the swap joy.

The organisers will be contributing and participating in the clothes swap and a small selection of the leftover items may be kept for the store to thank them for providing the space. The rest will be donated to Noffs.

Accessibility of the venue:

• There is no public restroom on site, but Norton Plaza and several pubs are a short walk away.

• The event is in a small space so for the comfort of others please avoid wearing strong scents to keep the event accessible for attendees with sensitivities and allergies.

• There is a small step at the entrance to the store that may limit access by mobility aids.
