SYO Summer School: $635 plus 1.4% processing fee

For the first time in 2025, musicians will have the option to audition for the Summer Symphony Orchestra!

Conducted by Leonard Weiss, Assistant Conductor of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Summer Symphony Orchestra will meet for a week of intensive rehearsals, tutorials and workshops at Haymarket Creative, SYO’s rehearsal venue in the heart of Chinatown, culminating in a showcase concert at the Sydney Conservatorium.

Musicians will work side-by-side with inspiring mentors from The Sydney Youth Orchestra and Sydney’s best instrumental tutors and educators.

Entry Guidelines

Audition required

Orchestral Strings, Brass, Woodwind and Percussion

  • AMEB Grade 6 to AMusA or equivalent. 

  • Previous large ensemble experience required. Must be having private instrumental tuition. 

Recommended ages: 14 – 18 years old

All musicians are required to bring their OWN instruments (excluding large percussion instruments)

SYO Summer School – $635 plus 1.4% processing fee
