Stitched Forms with Ro Cook

When

Saturday 17 January from 11am to 2pm

As part of the Second Look - Legacy workshop series, create a 3-dimensional form, for example a vessel/basket or sculpture using materials found under the bench, stashed in a cupboard or in the back yard or shed.

If they are flexible you can manipulate and stitch a variety of these materials together. Think rope, fabric strips, ribbons, cane, vines, twines, old scarves or neck ties, raffia. Scale, shape, colour, construction techniques and stability will be explored in in your project.

Ro will supply needles and strong threads for stitching as well as a lot of materials. Please feel free to bring along extra materials you may have that have been just waiting for this project.

  • A level of dexterity and hand and arm strength will be required.

  • Please wear closed in shoes and old clothes (or bring an apron).

  • Please bring extra warm clothes as the air conditioning can be strong in the workshop space.
