Sing by the Book(s) with Angie Who

Where
Gleebooks
Gleebooks
49 Glebe Point Road, Glebe NSW 2037
When

Mondays, 6:15pm to 7:30pm Monday 10 March to Monday 31 March

"Sing by the Book(s)" is a 4 week singing circle, upstairs at Gleebooks after closing time, with me Angie Who, your local song sharer, independent artist & family music maker. I usually work in the day, with kids and families, but I'm ready for some night life.

Everyone is welcome, because when you sing there's a good good thing that is happening in your brain and your body! I wrote the song about that ;)

Did you know that when you sing:

  • in a group, your brain waves, heart beats sync up

  • your stress levels lower

  • oxygen levels increase

  • endorphins and oxytocin are released in your brain, increasing social bonding and your sense of wellbeing

You don’t have to be a professional singer or experienced singer to reap and of these benefits (and there are so many more).

At 'Sing by the Book(s)' we'll sing simple songs taught by ear. Ironically there'll be no reading from sheet music... or books, no solos, no experience required. We are just going to sing for fun. If you can talk, you can sing, I don't care what they told you in grade 4 ;)

When:

  • Monday 10, 17, 24, 31 March 2025

  • Arrive from 6pm for a 6:30pm start (doors will be locked at 6:35pm)

  • Finish 7:30pm

Music is magic...hope you can join us.

"Perhaps we'll never truly understand what a song is, where it comes from, where it exists when it's not being sung, or how it seems to carry with it its unique medicine, over hundreds of years and thousands of miles through millions of people." (Kate Valentine UK)
