Your sewing journey starts here!

A friendly, beginner-focused workshop that walks you through the basics of using a sewing machine. You’ll start by choosing your fabric from our selection, then be guided through a simple sewing pattern. After some cutting, you’ll learn how to set up the sewing machine and start sewing your envelope cushion cover. Your teacher will guide the whole group at a comfortable pace, so no one feels left behind.

Project: Cushion cover (45 x 45cm)

What you'll learn

  • What the dials and settings do

  • How and when to adjust the tension

  • Winding the bobbin

  • Threading the machine

  • Sewing straight lines and seam allowances

  • Troubleshooting tips

  • Backstitching

  • Finishing raw edges with a zig zag
