In collaboration with Nature Being, Serene Forest Therapy invites you to give yourself time to slow down in nature.
Take time out from the daily demands of urban life to enjoy an oasis in the city.
Step into beautiful Centennial Park, savour the wide open spaces, breathe in the fresh air, listen to the bird song and enjoy a guided immersion in nature.
Forest therapy is an evidence based preventative health practise inspired by Shinrin-Yoku (Japanese for forest bathing). With its series of sensory and creative activities this gentle guided walk will encourage slowing down, de-stressing and re-connecting with nature.
Relaxing and enjoyable, forest therapy is beneficial for both your mind and body. Research reveals direct benefits include lowering of blood pressure, reduced levels of the stress hormone (cortisol), reduced anxiety, increased positive mood, enhanced energy levels and better concentration.
Starting in an open grassed area we will wander into a forest of pine-trees, paper-barks and a rare stand of rose gums taking our time to engage with the sights, sounds, scents and textures of our forest surroundings. The walk is leisurely, approximately 1 km long and will finish with a tea ceremony, including light refreshments.
