Sunday 28 July from 7:30am to 11:30am
As running culture experiences a huge resurgence, we find ourselves heading back to its roots – and that is the vibrant, high-energy running scene of the 80s and 90s that made running what it is today. Our mission? To celebrate this renaissance with the "Run back in time, Retro Run”, a running event that’s more than just a race, it’s a time-travelling experience, a throwback that merges fitness, fun, and nostalgia!
In 2024, runners of the Real Insurance Sydney Harbour 10&5K can expect to experience an unforgettable event that not only celebrates the current running boom but pays homage to the era that revolutionised it all. Runners of all ages are welcome, especially those who reminisce about the days of neon spandex, big hair, and great tunes, alongside a new generation eager to experience the retro trend firsthand.
2024 will also see our renewed mission to help give the people you love Australia’s best cancer research through our partnership with the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF). Also founded in the 80s, this year we will support them as they celebrate their 40-year milestone.
About the event
Whether you want to break a personal best on the 10K course or take your time to enjoy the entertainment on the 5K, every stride is a step closer to our vision of a world without cancer. Show your support and join us in raising vital funds for ACRF to give the people you love Australia’s best cancer research by running the Real Insurance Sydney Harbour 10&5k on Sunday 28 July 2024, this year!
The event is known for delivering the fastest and flattest course along Sydney Harbour but this year we will be upping the game on the experience too. In addition to the 80s & 90s vibe and dress-up, you can expect more music, more entertainment and more fun. So, whether you’re looking to race a PB or just to have a fun day out, the Real Insurance Sydney Harbour 10&5K is not to be missed.
In addition to being a fun day out for everyone, each year the event attracts some elite contenders looking to take out the title! Olympians such as Eloise Wellings, Ryan Gregson, Genevieve Gregson and Ben St Lawrence have all participated previously.
