Five Hundred Arhats and Lunar New Year

Thursday 3 February 2022 from 5pm to 9pm

To mark Lunar New Year, Year of the Tiger, the Powerhouse Museum will partner with City of Sydney and the Korean Cultural Centre to host an after-hours celebration.

A selection of dance, music, and culinary delights that honour Korean culture will accompany an exploration of the Museum and Five Hundred Arhats of Changnyeongsa Temple.

Roving Fashion Showcase

  • Contemporary Hanbok by MiranDay Designs

Tour and Talk

  • Min-Jung Kim, curator Five Hundred Arhats will lead a tour of Five Hundred Arhats.

  • Miranda Day, Hanbok Designer, provides context to her designs and speaks about how raising awareness of traditional clothing generates new interest in Korean culture and textiles.
