With a focus on artistic approaches to animation and the wonderful imperfections of analogue mark-making, you’ll learn ways to bring the vitality of the drawn and painted line into the online sphere. Discover how to make loops of raw, hand-drawn animation on paper and choreograph them into digital timelines.
Damian Gascoigne is an independent animation filmmaker and educator. In a professional career spanning more than twenty-five years he has created a significant body of short films, animation for live performance, commercials, and installations for gallery spaces. His award-winning films have been nominated in competition at the major animation festivals from Annecy, through Hiroshima and Seoul, to Zagreb. Damian’s creative practice spans fine art and independent animation, fusing distinctive hand drawn imagery with digital technology to create a uniquely personal aesthetic.
