Join Sydney City Farm in the Makerspace to learn about plants and get creative.

In this hands-on experience, you’ll personalise your own laser-cut flower press.

Using Adobe Illustrator you'll create a design which will be etched onto the front of your press. We will then cut your design on plywood using our state-of-the-art laser cutter and assemble it in the workshop.

Botanists press plants to preserve specimens collected in field studies. Engaging in plant collecting will increase your appreciation of local plant diversity and create unique material for botanical crafting.

Discover flowers and plants from City Farm which look amazing when dried and pressed. You can use your pressed plants to create arts, crafts, journalling or scrapbooking.

Sydney City Farm is located in Sydney Park at St Peters, where volunteers work with nature to grow food amongst the flowers.

Please note: This workshop is led by experienced facilitators in the Darling Square Library Makerspace.
