Introduction to Sculpture: beginners workshop

This introduction to this exciting medium is both informative and fun. Over two consecutive Saturdays students will be introduced to two core skills of sculpture - modelling and carving.

The correct use of tools, creative expression and sculptural techniques will all be covered in this compact and diverse introductory course.

Week 1 will see students guided through the techniques of modelling in clay. Students will model a human or animal form that will result in a resolved sculpture that will be fired at a later date.

Week 2 involves an introduction to Hebel stone carving. Advice and guidance will be provided in the ancient art of carving resulting in a resolved sculpture suitable for outdoor display.

All tools and materials are provided and firing costs are included in the price.

No previous experience required. Beginners welcome.
