Tuesday 3 December from 11am to 11:45am
Join us for an inclusive guided tour of an exhibition drawn from the City of Sydney’s civic collection for International Day of People with Disability.
Led by City of Sydney’s curator, Margaret Betteridge, you’ll enjoy a curated selection of objects from the collection, including captivating historical items, artworks, civic memorabilia and official gifts.
The tour will be audio described for visitors who are blind or have low vision and include an assortment of tactile materials to enrich exploration of the collection. Each piece tells a unique story, revealing its connection to Sydney's rich history.
Explore artefacts excavated from the Old Sydney Burial Ground, a matchstick model of Sydney Town Hall and a dried fugu or Japanese pufferfish known to have one of the deadliest toxins in the world.
‘More than Meets the Eye’ is displayed in the recently opened exhibition space, The Colonnade, at the rear of Sydney Town Hall.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with our heritage in an inclusive and meaningful way. You’ll receive pre-tour introductory notes and access information when you register.
