For one night only, Giorgio De Maria is bringing his playful, cult-favourite portfolio of fun Italian wines to the CBD’s own cellar door at The Wine Bar.

Giorgio is one of Australia’s most influential importers of Italian natural wine. A sommelier, restaurateur, and former organiser of Rootstock food and wine festival, Giorgio has built his reputation by unearthing small, artisan producers from across Italy and introducing their bottles to a new generation of curious drinkers. His portfolio champions minimal intervention, sustainable farming, and wines that are vibrant, characterful, and – above all – fun to drink.

On the night, expect a colourful line-up of rare Italian gems: skin-contact whites from Friuli, juicy Barbera from Piedmont, wild volcanic reds from Sicily, and plenty more. Each glass will tell the story of Giorgio’s travels and the people he’s met along the way – winemakers who put personality, provenance, and drinkability above all else.
