A ripped or torn piece of clothing is a sign that it’s well-loved, not that it needs to be tossed out.

By extending the life of your clothes by 9 months, you can reduce their carbon, water and waste footprints by 20-30%.

In these free workshops for City of Sydney residents, you'll learn easy hand sewing techniques to repair your favourite clothes, including how to:

  • sew on a button

  • fix a hole with visible mending

  • hem a garment.

The experienced teachers from Sew Make Create will guide you through the mending process. All tools and materials are provided, and you’ll receive a small sewing kit to take home for future repairs.

You must live in the City of Sydney to participate and proof of address is required. Check this map to see if you're eligible.
