Above us the waves; RAN submarines in the Great War

Where
Anzac Memorial
Anzac Memorial
Southern end of Hyde Park, Sydney NSW 2000
Auditorium
When

Monday 8 September from 12pm to 1pm

In 2025, the Anzac Memorial acquired a 1:48 scale model of the ill-fated HMAS AE2 submarine into its collection.

Join us during History Week for a compelling lunch-time talk on the AE2 and its daring mission through the Dardanelles. Discover the pivotal yet often overlooked role its 30-man crew played in disrupting Ottoman supply lines in the early stages of the Gallipoli campaign, and how this bold act of naval warfare helped shape Australia’s military legacy.

Entry is free; booking required.

The lecture is part of NSW History Week 2025.
