Gallery Lowe and Lee are delighted to present Fire and Ash: Woodfire 2024, our annual exhibition of contemporary Australian woodfired ceramics.

Continuing on last year’s success, we are excited to welcome back the ceramicists from Mungyeong, Korea, a region well renowned for their continued practice of traditional Korean wood firing methods.

With over 40 participating artists, this exhibition is a comprehensive survey of contemporary Australian woodfire practice; the medium’s pioneers continue their Sisyphean task of renewing artistic conventions they once helped establish, which the emerging ceramicists interpret with great exuberance. We look forward to sharing with you the dynamism and excellence of the genre.
