A celebrated Australian talent of South Indian descent, Oormila’s work has captivated audiences worldwide, earning prestigious nominations such as the Pushcart Prize and Sundress Best of the Net. Her poetry collections, Patchwork Fugue and A Second Life in Eighty-Eight Keys, have solidified her reputation as a creative force.

In this intimate session, Oormila will share personal pieces that explore the joys and challenges of life as an artist, writer, wife, teacher and mother. Through her evocative words and imagery, she invites us to reflect on identity, creativity, and resilience.

The evening will be hosted by Danny Gardner, a prolific poet, seasoned presenter and passionate advocate for poetry and storytelling. With decades of experience showcasing some of Sydney’s best literary voices, Danny brings a wealth of insight to this inspiring discussion.

Following the talk, participate in an interactive Q&A session to delve deeper into Oormila’s creative journey.
