Saturday 2 December 2023 from 11am to 1pm

November 25 marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign led by the United Nations calling for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls, ending on 10 December, Human Rights Day.

There are walks happening all over the world between 25 November - 10 December to support those affected by family violence.

By joining Respect Sydney's peaceful walk on 2 December 2023 from Sydney Town Hall to Hyde Park, you stand in solidarity with victim survivors and help raise awareness for those affected by domestic and family violence. We will be leaving Town Hall at 11am to start our walk towards Hyde Park.

People of all genders are welcome. We will encourage folks to bring workmates, friends, family, chosen family and dogs to the walk in the Sydney CBD.

Participants will be encouraged to wear orange if they can, to bring a water bottle, and colourful signs and banners, of course!

We all need Sydneysiders to join together to help create a future where we are all safe, equal and respected.

Respect Sydney raises awareness to prevent violence against women in Sydney and throughout New South Wales. We are inspired by Respect Victoria, who have been walking in solidarity in Melbourne CBD since 2009.
