After a sold-out debut season at Sydney Fringe, Waiting for Chloe is back for two additional performances at Factory Theatre in Marrickville as part of Sydney Fringe Comedy.
Three men on a balcony. Coastal NSW in the 2010s. A bucks weekend. They’re waiting for Chloe. She was booked hours ago. She’s definitely coming. Probably.
What starts as larrikin banter (crude, funny, authentically Australian) slowly reveals something rawer underneath: grief, loyalty, the performance of masculinity. Then the night takes a turn none of them expected.
Described as “hilarious and compelling” and a show that “shines an uncomfortable spotlight on Australian masculinity,” Waiting for Chloe is intimate, funny and quietly unsettling.
