Inspired by Issey Miyake's design philosophy, UNSW Design Futures Lab partners with Sorry Thanks I Love You to present a display of technology and fashion, offering visitors an interactive experience with Bao Bao bags unlike any other.
On June 15th and 16th, a robot choreographed by code will sketch an intricate deisgn inspired by Issey Miyake’s popular Bao Bao.
Fashioned from basic geometric triangles, the beloved and technical Bao Bao is realised in three-dimensional form by the designer. As he once said, “the challenge of the 21st century will be to create something that combines industry and craftsmanship with a bit of humour, fun and excitement.”
Programmed by UNSW Design Futures Lab and set in STILY’s cafe, visitors are invited to take home the robot’s art for free, revel in the live installation or watch it projected across STILY’s facades over the weekend.
