This show is the result of 4 years work by Tony Edwards, a traditional landscape painter and independent exhibitor.

Much of the work takes the northern beaches and Pittwater as it’s subject but includes some paintings of the Inner West and Sydney Harbour as well as a number of still life studies. The work is straightforward and representational. Edwards is self-taught, acquiring his graphic skills as an architectural draftsman and subsequently as an editorial illustrator and cartoonist. He was born in Strathfield in 1944, attended Manly Boys High School and has lived in and around Pittwater for much of his life.

Edwards received a Walkley award for editorial illustration in 1998 and a Children’s Book Council award for his 1982 book, Ralph the Rhino
