The Writer's Round

An event for the music lovers, the Writer's Round is a live music format that's been a staple of American music culture for decades, and yet it remains almost entirely untapped in Australia.

Talk Shop at Caption by Hyatt Central Sydney is quietly changing that. Earlier this year, Talk Shop hosted its first Writer's Round to a sold-out room of 50 people, and the response was enough to bring it back for a second edition on June 7th.

For the uninitiated, the Writer's Round takes a small group of original songwriters to don the stage together and rotate through their songs one by one, round after round. Between each track, they open up about the story behind it. Taking the stage are Ash Morse, Southey, Leianna, Natalie Theodore and Anika Joshi, running from 12:30pm to 3pm.
