Historian Laila Ellmoos will introduce you to the Demolition Books, a key photographic collection in our archives comprising almost 5000 photographs and associated glass plate negatives.
Laila will explain how and why the collection was created and will share some of her favourite images.

The City Archives is one of the premier archival collections in Australia and a rich resource for exploring Sydney’s history. In February 2020, the City released a new catalogue which provides unprecedented access to the archival collection. Recently, for the very first time, a selection of items from the Civic Collection have been added to the catalogue.
