When heavily-pregnant Amber moves to a small town in Iowa, she’s completely alone, and a long way from her Australian home. But as her future grows inside her, her past keeps turning up unexpectedly in her backyard.

Amber finds comfort in a friendship with her chipper neighbour, Erin, however these women’s pasts will collide in a way that puts their friendship in danger. A story that asks how do we forgive those who have hurt us, and does it last?

Shortlisted for the Griffin Award in 2021, The Arrogance is a powerful and tender new Australian play that is not to be missed.
