This event was established with the first Sydney Eisteddfod in 1933 to discover the finest voices throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Five emerging opera singers perform in front of distinguished adjudicators, including Head Adjudicator Francis Greep (Opera Australia), and award-winning artists Dr Simon Lobelson (baritone), Dr David Greco (baritone)  and Phoebe Humphreys (soprano).
