Sydney Ceramics Market will host 36 local artists & makers for a one-day event.

Born out of a desire to bring together a community of local Sydney ceramicists, potters, artists and makers who celebrate the potential of clay in all its wonderful forms, the market is set to uncover new talent as well as hosting independent practitioners with decades of experience.

Sydney’s ceramic scene has been growing steadily over the last two decades — with a new renaissance of artists and makers creating exciting and dynamic clay-based works. At Sydney Ceramics Market you’ll find a mix of functional domestic ware for everyday use and sculptural art pieces for sale, all handmade and direct from the maker.

The initiative was brought together by friends Melody Brunton, Ceramicist behind Emi Ceramics, and Samee Lapham, Photographer & Content Creator, in the hopes of showcasing the creative talents within the discipline across Sydney and NSW. Noticing a gap in Sydney’s celebration of ceramics, Melody and Samee were inspired to create Sydney Ceramics Market to bolster the wide range of incredible ceramic work they’ve fallen in love with.

The line-up includes ceramics from the likes of Public Holiday, Voluptuary Ceramics, Elizabeth Lewis, Anthony Brink, Trade the Mark, Albatross Ceramic, LouiseM Studio, Cobalt & Kin, H.A.W, Kusu Ceramics, Glost Studio, and Mennt, to name a few.

It's set to be an exciting day of admiring and shopping handmade ceramic works in person, and hopefully finding pieces to take home that you will treasure forever.
