Join us for Sydney Craft Week at Elizabeth Bay House!

See our talented MHNSW Soft Furnishings volunteers in action, recreating 19th-century soft furnishings using a variety of skills such as tatting, knotting, knitting, pin-tucking, crocheting, pinking, stitching, stuffing, embroidering.

Explore original sources from the Caroline Simpson Library, including pattern books, historical textile samples along with a rich array of other materials including silk, calico, moreen, horsehair, holland and more. Hear from the group coordinator, Joanna Nicholas and see how history comes to life through expert craftsmanship. Don’t miss this unique blend of history and craft!
