This introductory workshop provides students with the opportunity to learn essential jewellery-making skills while working with basic metals.
The focus of the lesson will be on crafting your own ring from brass or copper, employing techniques such as metal cutting, ring forming, soldering, and texturing—all taught during the class. This workshop is perfect for those interested in trying out silver jewellery making before committing to a full silver jewellery course.
In this 3-hour workshop, we will cover:
Health & Safety
Metal cutting
Ring sizing
Ring forming
Texturing
Soldering – using torches you learn how to anneal and solder to join the metal together
Polishing and Finishing – how to file, use emery paper and get the perfect shine
Basic silver jewellery skills – setting you up for a great start!
