This 8-week course welcomes both beginners and continuing students who are eager to practice and learn new jewellery making skills.
Beginners start by learning to cut, texture, and solder silver and base metals to create a pendant and ring, providing a solid foundation for producing more complex pieces in the future. For continuing students, the course offers an opportunity to advance their skills by exploring a range of techniques including design, roller printing, marking, riveting, patinas, metal inlay, and texturing. These techniques will help you create custom pieces and develop your own signature style.
The course begins with a review of basic skills and then progresses through technical demonstrations such as cabochon stone setting, roller printing, marking, and riveting. Students will also receive hands-on guidance in additional techniques like patinas, metal inlay, and texturing, which allow for the production of multi-coloured and patterned pieces. Throughout the course, participants are encouraged to develop their designs, refining their creative concepts and technical abilities.
