In an age of limitless streaming platforms, Letterboxd, and ‘bingeable’ content, writing for the big or small screen is not what it used to be. For aspiring and emerging screenwriters, it’s a competitive and ever-changing landscape.

This course will show you how make your story concept shine, develop fundamental screenwriting skills, and gain a unique insight into the world of film and television.

In this workshop with Chris Phillips, participants will examine a mix of basic theory, scene analysis, and practical exercises to explore fundamentals of character, story, and structure that can be applied to developing a screenplay.

No previous experience is required other than watching movies and small screen stories.

This writing course, Screenwriting Fundamentals with Chris Phillips, will be held at Writing NSW in Sydney.
