Sunday 3 September from 10am to 12:30pm
Get your hands dirty and discover the rewarding process of throwing clay. In this directed 5-week course, get a fun introduction to wheel work with our experienced tutors. Learn correct posture, centring, throwing and turning your vessel, and how to open and finish the form.
This course is for complete beginners with a focus on process and technique rather than production.
This course takes place on Sundays over 5 weeks:
Week 1: 3 September, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 2: 10 September, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 3: 17 September, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 4: 24 September, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 5: 1 October, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Small class size: maximum 10 students.
Level: designed for beginner level students.
Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes (trousers recommended).
Bring: please bring your own apron and towel.
All pieces created in the course must be no more than 25 cubic centimetres. Your works will be fired and ready to collect around 3 weeks after the course. We’re unable to fire pieces made outside of the course. .
