Retro Resurrection is a free community day for those who enjoy old-school video games, and for people of all ages who want to have a laugh and/or compete for glory!
Retro Resurrection offers a chance to relive childhood games or find some newfound favourites on the Nintendo 64. This event will bring together people from across Sydney and Australia to celebrate old-school gaming and the community that has grown around it. If you ever played on the Nintendo 64 console, this event is designed for you!
The event is open to everyone, whether you're a long-time Nintendo 64 fan, a competitive player, or simply looking to discover some classic games and meet new people. Come along, bring friends and family, and enjoy a fun and welcoming day of gaming, competition and community. Don't be scared to reach out to the helpful organisers, who would love to modify the schedule and activities to make this as fun as possible!
Notably, we will run a Super Smash Bros. tournament to prove your mettle against new players and pros! We will also offer quite literally every game on the N64, with custom game modes, Mario Kart, GoldenEye 007, Pokémon Stadium, Diddy Kong Racing, Zelda, and much more! Whether you're looking for friendly competition or simply want to pick up a controller and play, there will be something for everyone.
This event is a great opportunity to reconnect with classic games, share favourite memories and introduce a new generation to the games that defined a generation. No experience is required, and everyone is encouraged to come along and participate at their own pace.
This event has been made possible by the Super Smash Bros. community of Australia, which organises events throughout the year, with this being another chance to come together. Retro Resurrection will be held on 26 September, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Redfern Community Basement. Everyone is welcome to attend, so come along and be part of a day celebrating classic gaming, friendly competition and the wider gaming community.
