Retro Gaming Afternoon ages 13 to 18

When

Thursdays, 3pm to 5pm Thursday 1 August to Thursday 19 September

Create your own hero story and put your ideas together with others to help solve riddles, make new allies, find clues and defeat evil.

We can access old-school consoles such as the Super Nintendo and Sega Megadrive if we book them in advance, or you can bring your laptop to play with your friends.

There will occasionally be some facilitated 10-minute discussions around healthier gaming habits including:

  • Assertiveness skills, avoiding bullying and healthier online communications, especially in competitive environments

  • How to avoid problematic fundraising attempts by games and gambling-like gaming attempts such as loot boxes

  • Time and screen addiction management techniques.

This is a free, safe and supervised program for young people ages 13 to 18. No experience is necessary.

Snacks provided.

We aim to deliver inclusive and accessible events. If you have any particular access or communication needs please contact Lauren Al-Ali, youth and community worker, on 0472 769 117 or lalali@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.
