This showcase presents research projects aimed at meeting future challenges in built and digital environments, by working with diverse communities who are directly affected.
These include projects designed to capacity-build local governments as agents of change; addressing urban heat in social housing; allocation of safe, inclusive housing for women leaving violence; and new digital platforms that redesign how disability support is planned and prioritised with people with disability. At the heart of these projects are innovative research and design approaches that highlight social justice and equity, and centre lived experience.
Through producing community-led outcomes for industry partners, these projects reshape our built and digital environments, and share ways that our social and political institutions can approach the design of services and built environments.

This monthly event series invites industry and community organisations to learn more about the research expertise at the UTS Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building and the exciting collaborative opportunities that exist. Our researchers will showcase innovative approaches to pressing issues like urban resilience, sustainability in fashion, design for social inclusion, Industry 4.0 and the circular economy.
