''Procreate'' is an App based software that provides the opportunity to draw, paint or collage using your iPad, using its brush shapes and selection options, using your Apple pencil in combination with hand gesture controls.

You can also import your existing hand-drawn sketches or photographs and transform them into digital artwork. It is an excellent tool for printmakers, illustrators and any artist wanting to incorporate digital tools and mediums into their art making practice.

Students will be guided through basic tools and techniques in this super-intuitive and creative digital session that introduces the iPad as an art making tool. Begin by setting up your preferences to achieve the most efficient workflow then be guided through a range of tools and techniques.

Students will discover how to set up custom canvases, draw and paint, smudge and erase with the huge range of brushes. You will be shown the benefits of working in layers, creating colour palettes and importing images as well as how to save, file and share your work.

Materials List

An iPad and Apple Pencil and the design app Procreate installed on the IPAD ($20). 

About Jacqui Curry

Jacqui Curry is a professional designer with extensive industry experience, specializing in using Procreate as a core tool for creating illustrations, textile patterns, and graphic designs. With a formal teaching qualification and over two years of experience teaching Procreate, Jacquie combines her design expertise with a passion for education, guiding students through practical techniques and creative workflows. Her classes offer a hands-on approach, helping students unlock the full potential of Procreate for their own artistic and design projects.
