'The title of this exhibition resonates strongly with me as it points to the natural cycles of nature where we can observe marks and traces of flora and fauna over time. This repetition of mark making is one that is built into my own artmaking practice whereby the layering of etched lines builds the essence of landscape from beginning to end.
This new body of work celebrates the many years I have been developing and refining my practice with the use of a soldering iron as my main mark making tool. The use of the tool has allowed me to discover and create my own visual language which consists of a hybrid mix of painting and drawing. The painted surface provides the necessary background and colouration for me to gently etch and re-etch into its surface to build both depth and detail for my landscape images.'
