Art2Muse Gallery presents an exhibition of new works by Paul Evans.
In acrylics on linen, Evans paints a variety of subjects from beaches and sunsets to mountains and riverbanks. Paul often draws on the power and beauty of the natural world for inspiration.
As such, he portrays his subjects with close realism while allowing the emotion and essence of place to shine through.
It is the familiarity of Evans' subjects that strikes a chord with many viewers. His works recall memories of days spent at the beach or walking through mountain forests, and imbue a sense of wonder at Australia's spectacular wilderness.
"Painting for me is trying to capture a moment, that moment when the shadows engulf a cliff face, waves hit the beach, mountains shrouded in mist, or when a flock of galahs flash through a landscape and are gone. To me, these are moments of magic."
