Spanning over 180 years, the collection captures the city’s civic history, marking special events, respecting cultural diversity, and reflecting on Sydney’s ever-changing landscape and its people. With over 3,000 items acquired through gifts, purchases, and bequests, it offers a unique lens into the city’s rich heritage.
This vibrant collection includes decorative arts, furnishings, memorial objects, artworks, and official gifts. These items are displayed and used across Sydney Town Hall, City buildings, libraries, community centres, and work depots. They also serve as a valuable resource for researchers and historians.
